Eating in Dandenong has always been a bit of a rotation between perhaps the crepes place in the shopping centre, gozleme from the market or something from the food court. I really wanted to try something different so we tried the A1 Bakery – I’ve always wanted to go to the one in Brunswick and was pleasantly surprised to find out there’s a branch so close in Dandenong (I found out when I walked past it on my way to Ginger Jones.
We brought our lunch home – we tried the cheese pie. Even my mum who’s a typical Asian and normally can’t stomach cheesy things quite enjoyed this one (she did chuck some of the filling out but it was only a tablespoon:)). It was still warm after the 20 minute drive home so I can imagine it would have probably been better at the store. At this temperature the cheese was just firming up and had a squeaky texture but was still nice.
The meat pizza was great. Can’t wait to try their other items and probably eat there so it’s piping hot!
