Bistro Guillaume dinner at Crown in Southbank


I like this place.  Bistro Guillaume has left pleasant memories in my mind.  Even my brother who was rather sick with the flu remembers a good meal and not much of anything else that night.

Their entrees were lovely.  Mussels in the most beautiful sauce – remember to save some bread (the bread was nominated as the best dish of the day by my dad).

The spanner crab salad was refreshing and a work of art really.

Mains wise, we had the john dory though I think capers aren’t our cup of tea.

Duck confit is always welcome to the table for us.

Their special was really quite cheap and generous in portion.  Rack of lamb with ratatoille.  Yum. Could do with a dish like this on a winter’s day.

Their roast chicken was quite juicy.  Wouldn’t mind a few green sides but I suppose they normally sell this separately.

I think the desserts won us over.  My mum loves the raspberry macaroon. Heck, the whole table loved it.  It was a shame we ordered only one.

Their chocolate fondant was a strong contestant gooey in the centre and served with vanilla bean ice cream.
