It was such a nice day – a perfect day to visit a cafe. We chose Caffe La Via because it’s in the Entertainment book and has buy one get one free mains (note you can use it for all their other dishes too, which is reasonable given they only have three mains listed on their very extensive menu).
There’s ample seating in this cafe and the menu spanning four pages long certainly takes some time to go through. They do open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and also provide deliveries so I guess it isn’t surprising.
We chose the duck tortoloni – I was perplexed as to why this was listed in the salad section but upon the dish being served, I realised why – the portion of salad is certainly very generous! It comes with three large pasta parcels filled with duck and porcini mushrooms on top of a bed of stir fried zucchinis, broccoli and beans, topped with a balsamic glaze and pinenuts. The tortoloni was a tad dry but I loved the greens – fresh, lightly stir fried and the balsamic glaze brought everything together nicely.
We also ordered “the jojo” wagyu mince burger. This was served in a brioche bun (I need to buy some of these to make fancy burgers at home!) and had a combination of my favourite burger ingredients – a beetroot relish and grilled pineapple, lettuce and mayonnaise. Again the pattie was a tad dry but the dish was redeemed by the beetroot relish. The accompanying thick cut chips were also nicely done.
Overall a great relaxing place to dine – Caffe La Via definitely has something on the menu for everyone.
