Grain Asian Cafe Chinese Street Food in Box Hill

A quick post indeed.  Grain Asian Cafe has always been a long time favourite for me.  Such that I almost never have my proper camera with me when I’ve had lunch there.  As with many Chinese restaurants in Box Hill, don’t expect too much from the service but the food is good enough to keep us all coming.

The most recent occasion we had three people. So of course we ordered exactly the same thing – prawn dumpling noodle soup.  This time the prawn dumplings were a little more cooked than needed but still fantastic.

I’d also recommend the steamed chicken mushroom rice but I noticed it has been downsized (it used to come in mammoth portions – enough for lunch and dinner).

They also sell takeaway buns to be steamed later or sticky rice triangles.  The shop opposite selling egg tarts and other sweet treats is also theirs – also exceptionally popular.
