French toast was our mission for the day – I’m quite glad we chose Le Flaneur. I had a lovely dinner there a while ago and was quite keen to try out their menu this year. It’s so seasonal I do wish they kept their current menu on their facebook – my friend would have been quite disappointed if indeed they didn’t have French toast at this French inspired brunch location (we’d both be rather surprised too).
The brioche french toast was lovely. Two generous slices sandwiching crispy bacon and drizzled with maple syrup.
Branching out a bit I decided to try the chicken and chive sausage with carrot puree and poached eggs. I loved the combination and the carrot puree was sweet and went well with the salad drizzled with balsamic vinegar. It almost reminded me of how sweet pumpkin can be (it is Halloween soon so I guess I do have pumpkin on my mind!).
Where would you recommend having French toast? My mind gets jumbled with the nice banana breads and pancakes I’ve had to date that when I think of French toast, I can only think of Le Flaneur (well… Merchants Guild had french toast made with donuts…):) I’m glad to have tried it out now!
