A decadent brunch we had this Saturday morning! This place has had great reviews in The Age as well as Timeout for good reason. I would have loved to try their signature crispy eggs but it just seemed too filling for breakfast. Instead we had french toast using brioche. Hm. I guess it didn’t count because it was sweet.
To top it all off (actually to start things off) we had their raspberry and custard donut. Their waitress was rather tight lipped which flavour was more popular – chocolate or raspberry/custard. Well. She said they both sell out at the end of the day.
Yes this brunch was a bit too heavy! I did choose scrambled eggs with a side of beans (these were a bit too al dente for my liking) for a reason. Instead I ended up eating most of my friend’s french toast. The poached pear was lovely by the way. Would I eat the whole thing myself? Probably not.
A great little cafe. They also have a garden at the back so I guess I can’t say it’s that little but it was so packed… Well anyway, I’ll think of something different when I see the word “Hendricks” in the future. Lovely eggs and breakfast….
