[codepeople-post-map]There are so many cafes I haven’t tried yet that are listed in the entertainment book it’s often hard to pick one. This time we were bringing my dog, Buffy, to the vet for her annual vaccinations and Sketches Cafe is quite close to RSPCA and had a score of 90% on urbanspoon so it seemed like a good choice.
I’m glad we went. It’s a great sign when on a Thursday lunch time, the venue is full and we were lucky to get a seat in the outside heated gazebo area. Breakfast goes until 3:30pm so we opted for a BLT ciabatta roll and a veggie breakfast. I’m glad we got there when we did as the two tables that arrived later than us were told they had run out of ciabatta for the day.
Both dishes were lovely. The scrambled eggs were just right and the veggie breakfast was huge and came with avocado and a hash brown. The only annoying thing was that we didn’t have time for dessert.
Incidentally the sign outside says they offer high tea on the first Sunday of every month. Sounds like I’ll be back soon.
Update September 2013: Yeah so I did end up going back again:) This time I had the steak ciabatta with thin fries – again yum, I just couldn’t go past having another taste of that lovely ciabatta. I think it was a porterhouse which was perfectly cooked at medium rare. My friends tried the poached egg and big breakfast. I think we were all pretty happy with our choices – the only thing was it was rather busy at 1pm on Sunday so the wait for our orders was a little long but the staff were lovely and kept us informed and relatively happy with our drinks.
