Wishlist of restaurants – Albert St Food & Wine, Maedaya, Station Hotel and Wayside Inn 3

We’ve gone to so many places in the past few years – here’s a few I wouldn’t mind visiting again.  Menus might have changed but if they maintain the same quality I’ll definitely be wanting to try their new offerings as well.

 Albert St Food & Wine:

We definitely enjoyed our lunch here – and it was for a special occasion too as one of our friends announced he had proposed and now engaged.  The food was fantastic – fresh and not too heavy apart from dessert but hey – I guess when people order one dessert each, it’s expected to get a little heavy.

It’s on the entertainment book this year so I will make sure to visit this restaurant again.  Great food from starters to dessert.  I remember the poached salmon was especially lovely.

Maedaya

Who doesn’t like Japanese Tapas?  According to their facebook page they even have an ipad ordering system in place now.. Their pork belly was fantastic and I liked how their salads clensed the palate after the admittedly heavy dishes of grilled chicken skewers and meatballs.  They also had a fantastic collection of rice wine and cocktails.

Wayside Inn

After trying their sister hotel, the Station Hotel (which had an awesome lunch deal of an open steak sandwich and soup for $12 before), we were tempted to go here and try their steak sandwich too.  Although it wasn’t disappointing by any means, we had just too good an experience with the Station Hotel.  Perhaps we needed a little time between steak sandwich meals – we after all don’t normally eat so many in one week!  We also tried a fish ball of some sort – it was quite nice and looked quite impressive on the plate.
